The increasing use of skin-whitening creams among young women in Bangladesh poses serious public health concerns due to the potential risks associated with harmful ingredients such as mercury and hydroquinone. This study investigates the knowledge, perceptions, and practices related to skin-whitening product use and their association with skin cancer awareness among female students aged 15–30 years in Dhaka. A crosssectional study was conducted involving 500 participants selected through stratified random sampling from five educational institutions in the Uttara Sector-10 area. Data were collected through structured face-to-face interviews using a comprehensive questionnaire.

Published: 2026-January-27
This paper explores the psychological and ethical dimensions of political violence in Mirza Waheed’s “The Collaborator”, focusing on the human cost of the Kashmir conflict during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The study examines how trauma, memory, and moral ambiguity are represented through the unnamed protagonist—a young Kashmiri coerced into working for the Indian military to recover identification from fallen insurgents. Grounded in Cathy Caruth’s theory of trauma and Judith Herman’s PTSD framework, this paper analyzes how the novel articulates the internal collapse of individuals caught in systemic violence. Using close textual analysis, the study reveals how personal suffering intersects with broader political agendas, leading to alienation, cultural erosion, and existential crisis

Authors: Md. Moniruzzaman Bhuyan1*, Dilara Dilshad2 , Mashky Chowdhury Surja3
Published: 2026-January-27
Heat exchangers are widely employed in various sectors for both heating and cooling. This paper describes a numerical model for simulating a counter-flow parallel plate heat exchanger. The computational domain was a representative unit cell of a multi-channel heat exchanger, which included a hot channel and a cold channel separated by plates. The simulation is directed in COMSOL for an oilto-water heat exchanger, with hot oil and cold water flowing in opposing directions through distinct channels.

Authors: Saiful Islam1*, Md. Hafizul Islam2 Mohammad Moniruzzaman3 , Dr. Md. Jahidul Islam4
Published: 2026-January-27
A novel mixed-ligand copper(II) complex, [Cu(Asp)(bpy)]·nH₂O, incorporating aspartic acid (Asp) and 4,4′-bipyridine (bpy), was synthesized and extensively characterized to elucidate its redox, magnetic, thermal, and spectroscopic properties. Fourier-transform infrared spectra confirmed coordination through the carboxylate oxygen of Asp and the nitrogen atoms of bpy, forming a mixed N,O-donor environment around the Cu(II) center

Authors: Md. Nurul Haque 1*
Published: 2026-January-27
“Behind every polished monologue lies a fractured self, whispering through the cracks of Victorian decorum.” This study examines the evolving architecture of selfhood in Robert Browning’s dramatic monologues, revealing how Victorian anxieties about morality, gender, and institutional authority influence the performance of identity and prefigure modernist fluidity. The research examines Browning’s poetic project as a subversive critique of fixed selfhood, entrenched class structures, and the moral posturing of his age.

Shifting cultivation, locally known as Jhum, is a traditional agricultural practice among the indigenous communities of the Rangamati Hill Tracts. Climate change—characterized by longterm shifts in temperature and weather patterns—poses increasing challenges to this system. Since agricultural productivity relies heavily on climatic factors such as temperature, rainfall, light intensity, radiation, and sunshine duration, the growing irregularity of these elements due to global warming threatens the stability of Jhum cultivation.

Authors: Murad Kabir Nipun1*, F. A. Sabbir Ahmed2 , Md Golam Morshed3 , S. M. Rifatur Rana3
Published: 2026-January-27
In this paper, a wideband metamaterial absorber (MMA) is proposed based on a resistively loaded square ring resonator. The proposed MMA consists of surface mounted 420 Ω lumped resistors and is designed on a FR-4 substrate. The proposed structure achieved over 90% absorption across a broad frequency range from 23.5 GHz to 28.65 GHz, with a peak absorption of 99.04% at 27.98 GHz having a Shielding effectiveness (SE) of 37.73 dB. The proposed meta-surface absorber shows polarization insensitive characteristics and upholds high absorption across a variety of incident angles

n internship serves as a bridge between academic and professional practice for nursing students. However, there is limited understanding about the challenges faced by intern nurses, particularly during the night shift. The primary objective is to explore the challenges faced by intern nurses during night shift duties and to identify areas of improvement. This is a qualitative phenomenological study in which strict statistical calculation were not followed rather data saturation guided the total sample size that is 10 in our case.

Authors: Md. Abdullah-All-Mamun*
Published: 2026-January-27
This paper explores the concept of self-realization, the basic norm of deep ecology, and argues that it can be understood as an epistemic virtue. In the tradition of the deep ecology movement, self-realization has been portrayed as a lifelong process through which one can expand one's identity and realize a deep connection with all human and non-human entities of nature. However, the moral status of self-realization remains controversial. Existing literature on deep ecology has largely focused on whether self-realization is morally neutral or inherently moral.

This research investigates the variances in the attainment of students in the cognition levels: lower-order learning (LOL) and higher-order learning (HOL). This is important because it helps improve teaching methods tailored to the discipline. The cognitive domain of Bloom’s Taxonomy has six layers: the first three – remembering, understanding, and applying – are considered LOL, while the other three – analyzing, evaluating, and creating – are regarded as HOL. The primary focus of this research is on student learning—specifically how it varies when exposed to different levels of cognitive demand in various disciplines

The mainstream English education system in Bangladesh has emphasised writing over the other three core language skills, as evidenced by the English tests in the secondary and higher secondary public examinations. Nevertheless, this pre-tertiary English education often fails to equip learners with the necessary proficiency in applying this skill practically, such as producing specific types of writing like descriptive, narrative, argumentative, and comparative. As a result of this learning gap, English undergraduates typically demonstrate low proficiency in contextspecific academic writing.
